BA Childhood Practice Rates highly in National Student Survey results

The BA Childhood Practice (BACP) delivered by UHI is the qualification that offers practitioners in a wide range of early years and childcare settings the opportunity to gain the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) qualification to be a lead practitioner or manager.

In the recent National Student Survey (NSS) results, BACP delivered by UHI was rated 95% for overall student satisfaction (Scottish average is 79%). The NSS is an important benchmark in university course selection.  Many potential students and employers use these results to identify the quality of a course.

A particular strength was 100% of the students  claimed that they were being given opportunities to explore ideas or concepts in depth (Scottish average 82%), however, many more of the 27 questions were rated higher than 90%.

Profession Clive Mulholland, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of UHI congratulated Dr Alice Mongiello and her team highlighting the survey as evidence of the quality of the learning and teaching, the support available, the organisation and management, the opportunities to have their voices listened to and acted upon.

This course is delivered via Orkney College.
