UHI offers opportunities for a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the field of early learning, youth and education, with a focus on children's rights:
- The BA (Hons) Child and Youth Studies fully online degree focuses on an understanding of child and youth issues within a local and global context. Successful graduates have gone onto careers within education (primary teaching), social work, youth work, community learning and development and other related careers.
- The BA (Hons) Child and Youth Studies with Community Learning and Development is the the first CLD Standards Council Scotland accredited programme in the Highlands and Islands. Delivered fully online, alongside work placements, this course is suitable for individuals pursuing a career in community learning and development.
- The BA (Hons) Childhood Practice fully online degree offers practitioners in a wide range of childhood practice settings the opportunity to gain the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) recognised qualification to be a lead practitioner.
- The MA Children and Young People’s Participation and Leadership is designed for any professional who works with children, young people and their families, with a special interest in facilitating their rights and active participation. Within the programme we also offer two modules for continuous professional development (CPD) at level 11: CPD Award Building Resilience: Understanding the Impact of ACEs (SCQF level 11) and Article 12: Participation and Leadership.
The event will be hosted by Dr Mei-Li Roberts, Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Child and Youth Studies programme and Debbie Corbett, Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Childhood Practice programme and will include:
