Foundation Apprenticeships are a blended learning approach combining a work-based qualification with academic learning and industry involvement.

Starting in senior phase, the Foundation Apprenticeship (FA) at UHI Orkney takes two years to complete.

Working alongside school studies the Foundation Apprenticeship enables pupils going into S5 to step outside of school into the college/university environment for one day a week with work placements integrated throughout, offering a hands-on experience. Upon completion, students will receive an industry-recognised qualification.
