Free DIY Courses for owners of historic homes in Kirkwall

Orkney College and Kirkwall Townscape Heritage Initiative (KTHI) are offering free courses to property owners living in the Kirkwall conservation area who want to carry out repairs to their properties or to find out more about how traditional properties are maintained.

A range of 1 day courses are being offered that will give an introduction to skills and techniques including:

• Lime Pointing and Harling
• Sash and case windows
• Carpentry and joinery repairs
• Slating repairs
• Conservation maintenance
