Social Services and Healthcare SVQ2

What is special about this course?

This course is aimed at people who already work in social care in a support role and require an SVQ 2 in Social Services and Healthcare to meet the qualification requirements of their employer and the registration requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council.

Entry requirements

Communication and numeracy skills at SCQF level 4 or above, although consideration is given to mature students with no formal academic qualifications.

The SVQ Level 2 involves completion of 6 units, 4 mandatory and 2 option units from a given selection. Mandatory Units focus on Support Effective Communication Support the Health and Safety of Yourself and Individuals Develop Your Own Knowledge and Practice Support the Safeguarding of Individuals

How will I study my course?

  • Part Time

You will study by way of class-room based lectures and tutorials in College and by using on-line support materials. The Course is continuously assessed.

Length - 6 months part-time
