What is special about this course?
In the Hospitality Department, we pride ourselves in training the future Chefs and Food Service Personnel by using ‘our islands larder’ to prepare you with the skills and knowledge to work in the sector. Coming to study in the department, we will fully equip you with the latest industry courses including: Licensing law, Food Hygiene, Allergen Controls and the Worldhost Principles of Customer Care Certificate so you can give the highest level of customer care.
Entry requirements
Four National 4 passes, one of which must be English
Skills for Work Hospitality Level 4
National Progression Award in Bakery Level 4
Relevant experience in the industry may be considered.
The NC Professional Cookery course is a broad-based course covering units in cookery as well as food service. Students generally spend three days a week in College, with one day in industry.
The course includes classes in Communication, Numeracy and IT which are taught out-with the department.
The department runs the Overblikk Training Restaurant where the student cohort will gain valuable experience and develop confidence in serving customers.
