UHI Archaeology Institute Ten Year Anniversary Event:

The special event on Friday, November 14, will reflect on the institute’s development into a centre of discovery, education, and excellence, and to showcase our research and work within the commercial archaeology section.

Our celebration runs from 4pm until 7.30pm on November 14, at UHI Orkney, East Road, Kirkwall. All are welcome.

The schedule is:

4pm onwards: Exhibitions, demonstrations, and activities

4.30pm: The official launch of Animating the Dead: An Archaeology of Bronze Age Burial Practices in Orkney – the new book by Professors Jane Downes and Colin Richards. A limited number of copies will be available to purchase.

5pm: Welcome addresses and reception. Refreshments provided.

5.45pm – 7.15pm: Talks featuring UHI Archaeology Institute’s highlights, including Ness of Brodgar, The Cairns, community archaeology, and ORCA projects.
